How much distance, is too smothering?
How wasted do you have to be, to really be sober?
How dark do you have to be, before they call you “Fair”?
How much more money, before you feel beautiful again?
How carefree do you have to be, before you turn reckless?
How unruly do you have to be, before they call you “Disciplined”?
How delirious do you have to be, to be called “Sane”?
How happy do you have to be, to be clinically depressed?
How hurt must you truly be, to fake a smile?
How quiet do you have to be, before they know you’re angry?
How much more pride, before you turn into an “Envy”?
How many more fights, before they discover your cowardice?
How many more tears, before you become indifferent?
How much more betrayal, before you learn to love yourself?
How many more mistakes, before you feel “Perfect”?
How many more regrets, before you feel at peace?
How many more lies, before you find God?
How much more shackled by unsaid words must you be, before you feel fully liberated?
How much more anguish, before they call it ” Love”?
How much more threatened must you be, before you are truly safe again?
How much more trauma, till you feel whole again?
How dead must you be on the inside, before you feel truly alive?
How afraid must you be, before you turn into a superhero?
And how much longer before we realize that,
Some times we are all that we’ve got,
But most times we are all that we need.
How early is too late?
Or is it?
